My career has spanned design, development, project management, digital marketing, video production, sales operations and new business development. Early in my career, I served as Creative Director for some of Central North Carolina’s emerging digital agencies. Then, I ventured out on my own. As co-founder of Appian Digital, Inc., I led the creative team, then directed company operations and later managed all business development and account services. Along the way, we were consistently ranked as one of the Piedmont’s top web development companies by Triad Business Journal, in the process, winning some very cool awards. I’ve touched every part of digital but my true passion is working with clients to develop winning digital strategies, nurturing and growing relationships.

Responsible for owning and streamlining the production process using internal and external resources as required, to achieve profitability and efficiency targets. Led client acquisition efforts and served as a key technical resource for the business development team in fulfilling website development/digital marketing/video production proposals and SOWs. Executed discovery for website development/digital marketing/video production projects and developed project requirements documentation. Directed Walk West internal digital marketing efforts to include content development, SEO, paid search and video production. Implemented Zendesk for client support/issue tracking and managed technical support team.

Directed team of three Digital Solutions Consultants to increase sales revenue by 53% over three years. Led multiple departments in coordination of digital marketing efforts, creative direction and overall company strategies. Established and developed relationships with major accounts, including Qualicaps, LeBleu Bottled Water, Spectrum Laboratory Network, Oscar de la Renta Personal Sleep, and numerous local and regional SMBs. Successful exit in 2007 and remained as Director of Business Development until 2012.

Director of Creative Services | 2001-2002 | Nuklias, Inc.

Nuklias, a spin-off of VerticalNet,  was an interactive design and business intelligence company in Greensboro. I led a design staff of four and directed all creative efforts to ensure that projects were on time, on budget and on strategy. I managed a wide range of custom web projects for clients such as Lowe’s Home Improvement, Square D Company, Hendrick Auto Group, and Tribuzio Hillard.

Creative Director | 1997-2001 | Hughes Companies, Inc.

Hughes Companies was the parent company of Hughes Automation and Hughes e-Systems. Recruited and supervised a team of six interactive designers and programmers. Directed and managed multiple projects ranging from simple corporate websites to advanced custom web applications. Hands-on manager responsible for all aspects of interactive and multimedia projects, including interaction design, visual design, Flash, and video. Responsible for all user interface design for factory-floor control and data collection systems (HMI/ SCADA) using industry standard process automation software such as Wonderware, RSView and Intellution. Designed user interfaces for custom web applications ranging from client intranets to data reporting systems. Developed all administrator/user training materials using Doc-To-Help. Responsible for the development of all company sales and marketing collateral including technical cut sheets, sales presentations, and trade show exhibits.

I designed and developed an interactive library of travel itineraries for destinations throughout NC. Back when Flash was the way to go. Good times.

Live Cargo Software Demo

Back when Flash was a thing, I developed this interactive demo for this proprietary software technology used for secure file transfer and storage that improves and optimizes processes associated with transferring documents and digital media over the Internet.
